A STAR
has led the Magi to the manger. Alleluia!

Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the universe:
to you be praise and glory for ever!

As gold is refined in the fire so may we serve you in the purity of your kingdom.
As our prayers rise before you as incense so may we offer ourselves in priestly service.
As you give medicine to heal our sickness so may the nations be anointed with your healing power.

WATER becomes wine at the wedding feast of Cana. Alleluia!

To the thirsty I will give water without price from the fountain of the water of life

Blessed are you, Lord our God,
King of the Universe: for the marriage of the Lamb has come.
Make your Church ready, and clothe her with the righteous deeds of the saints,
as together we join in the praise of your new creation.

CHRIST is revealed to all in the waters of baptism. Alleluia!

I will sprinkle clean water upon you and put a new spirit within you.

Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe: you bring waters out of the stony rock.
For with you is the well of life, and in your light we shall see light.

For the Epiphany of our God
in the Child of Bethlehem
Let us bless the Lord.

For the New Wine of the Kingdom
in the ministry of Jesus
Let us bless the Lord.

For the Spirit of Life in the waters of Baptism
Let us bless the Lord.

A Prayer of Intercession

CHILD of Bethlehem and King of Kings,
you received the adoration of the Magi who came from Eastern lands.

Pour your blessing on the rulers of the nations
and with your perfect light
guide those who live according to the great faiths of the world. Amen.

JESUS, Word of God and Light of the World,
you revealed your glory at the wedding feast at Cana.

Bless us with your healing presence
and transform our proud and stubborn ways
with the new wine of your grace
and bring us with your saints
to the joyful feast of your eternal kingdom. Amen

SON OF GOD and Son of Mary, you received your baptism from John
and you invited your disciples to receive the Holy Spirit.

Pour your grace upon all the baptized
and grant that we may work together for the justice and peace
which belong to your kingdom. Amen.

A NEW YEAR PRAYER
by W E Orchard, 1877-1955

Grant us grace, O God,
to begin this year in your faith
and to continue it in your favour,
that being guided in all our doings
and guarded all our days,
we may spend ourselves in your service
and finally, by your grace,
attain to the glory of eternal life;
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
