Psalm 46: 1-3
1 God is our refuge and strength,
a very present* help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
3 though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Romans 8: 37-39
In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Prayer
Risen, reigning Christ,
in you past, present and future,
are brought together in one great hope.
Renew our faith in you,
so that the past may not hinder us,
nor the present overwhelm us,
or the future frighten us.
You have brought us this far;
continue to lead us until our hope is fulfilled
and we join with all God's people
in never-ending praise;
for your name's sake.
Amen.
