Building on the work of the Bail Circle, through its asylum and refuges worker, the Churches Racial Justice Network is able to:
Provide lists of competent legal practitioners, based on feedback.
Maintain and analyse databases of clients, NGOs and experts.
Provide information on lawyers' professional duties of care.
Help to obtain evidence or expert contacts.
Deal with media enquiries.
Respond to statutory consultations on policy.
Work for the informed legal treatment of religious conversion cases.
Encourage relevant campaigns. These include pressing for an independent commission to decide asylum cases and a path to legalisation for those who can neither win refugee status nor be returned to troubled countries of origin.
Support and inform the Churches' Refugee Network.
